Hakata Weaving The "kenjo" pattern is most characteristic of this textile. It has always been well known for its rather austere look, but recently softer color combinations have come onto the market.

Kurume-gasuri Kurume-gasuri is a fabric first created by Inoue Den, (born: 1788 in Kurume) and farmers in the Chikugo area have thus woven the fabric as a side business since the end of Edo era. The skillful designs with their beautiful shades of indigo have always, and continue to, attract a good many people to their wares.
